Stags Leap District Winegrowers Association

Quixote Winery

Quixote Winery is a boutique estate in Napa Valley's Stags Leap District, producing just 3,000 cases annually of estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Sirah. Founded by visionary Carl Doumani, Quixote is more than a winery—it is a celebration of individuality, creativity, and the simple pleasure of sharing extraordinary wine.

Inspired by the timeless novel Don Quixote, Doumani named the winery after its idealistic hero, believing great wine should inspire imagination as much as enjoyment. That philosophy guided every decision, from the vineyard to the remarkable winery itself.

In 1989, Doumani discovered the work of Austrian artist and architect Friedensreich Hundertwasser and recognized a kindred spirit. Rejecting convention, Hundertwasser designed a winery unlike any other in the Americas—an expressive masterpiece of vibrant mosaics, organic curves, and colorful towers that reflects his belief that architecture should exist in harmony with nature.

Surrounding this iconic building, Quixote's 42-acre estate showcases four distinct soil types and both east- and west-facing slopes, producing wines of exceptional balance, complexity, and character. Under the guidance of renowned consulting winemaker Philippe Melka, our grapes are hand-harvested, carefully sorted, and crafted with minimal intervention, allowing each vintage to express the distinctive terroir of the Stags Leap District.

Quixote is where visionary architecture, exceptional vineyards, and uncompromising winemaking come together—an invitation to experience wine with curiosity, creativity, and a sense of wonder.
